UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Very smart looking corvine, that name is such a good decription of the calls of birds in this family.

Good pics, especially to show the irridescent colors and evil eyes. Unwelcome bird.

Wonderful photos.,

Grackles were never the pest that the starlings were at home. Love their colors - they have a distinctive yak to let you know they have arrived as well. Great shots.

Don't think I have ever seen a bird like this one, does put me in mind of the starling...great capture
moonrancher
Excellent. Love the colors. Don't like the bird much. One or two is fine, but when the ground is covered with dozens or a hundred of them and they make that sneery sound, I think of Hitchcok's movie and chase them off.
timtripp
excellent
skipper62
Excellent shot. menacing eyes on that dude. Agree with moonrancher. One or two is quite enough.

Cool! It has a certain......meanace! A mean looking bird. Kind of like our Magpies or Jackdaws! Another top montage! Rob.
MrsRatbag
I like them, they seem to have real character. Great captures!

Having never seen one and having no experience with them, all I can do is look at your photographs and marvel at the beautiful shift of color. That rich teal is gorgeous! I would imagine that 15 minutes with a flock of them would cure me of that view, but in the meantime, I'll just enjoy their beauty. Wonderful captures!
flavia49

Nonpareil clarity, focus, lighting and colors in this shot of the sheen birdie, Bill! The eyes are rather hyper I would say...almost robotlike. No wonder it scares away the other avians that come to feed at the large bowl.
orig_buggy
I actually like the blue coloring on his head.

Interesting colours on this bird, here in UK we would never see one of these. Good to get your shot so close, I imagine from a distance you wouldn't notice the beautiful colour. Strange eye lol. Bravo!
Osper
A scout no doubt!! Great shot! Shows the subtle colors well!
npauling
I rather like his beautiful shiny plumage. Lovely captures.

They do have cool eyes and wonderful iridescence when the sun shines on them. But they sure can decimate your bird seed! Nice shot, Bill.
