Description

That snow-covered ridgeline in the distance runs at about 7,000 feet above sea level, and the peaks to the left are Klawatti and Eldorado, which are right around 8,500 feet. It took me a while to figure out what I was looking at once I got the pictures home. We have so many mountains like this around here, and if you're not a climber (and I'm not a climber) they all sort of run together as "the mountains." This shot was taken from the side of the road, looking across somebody's beautiful pastureland about two hours from Seattle. Including several stops, one for lunch, our leisurely drive took us about five hours round trip. Come vacation in Seattle! :D

Oh, that's such a lovely view; that's what I love about this area, those striking white mountains at the edges of everything. Beautiful capture!

This is a gorgeous view! It's got a panoramic sweep to it, but at the same time, there's a calm, quietness to it that always seems to escape panoramas for some odd reason. At any rate, it's a fantastic shot, great details grab the eye all over this. The green pastureland and the snowy peaks are a great contrast to each other and the closer, darker mountains (foothills?) give a great sense of depth to the mountains beyond.

Beautiful scene. My family and I lived at Fort Lewis for a year (72-73) and I never got a picture of Mt. Ranier. Everytime it showed up, I didn't have a camera (wasn't into carting one around then). Sigh :)

Growing up in the White Mountains I only know the names of a handful. Sad to think we know so little about where we spent so much time living. Excellent view.

You are one very lucky lady to have this on your doorstep, I do appreciate what I have close to home but nothing in England compares to this. Don't get me wrong, we have some outstanding scenery but we have to go further afield to find snowcaped mountains. Superb panarama. Bravo!!!!!
