Description

My first decent trial at TG2. Lots of thanks to the people at the PLanetside Forum for steering me in the right direction. Thanks to Tangled Universe for making his file available for the learning of node function and flows. I spend a lot of time dissecting the TU canyon file and reconstructing it and this render includes only a small fraction of the nodes but still gives adequate detail from this distance. When I figure out the rest I will take a closer peak at the walls ! The vegetation sucks but had no energy left to spend more time in it. Will fix it latter ! Did absolutely no postwork as I will likely get killed if I do not leave this computer...will fix that latter too ! Will post a better version later this week. Appreciate any comments or suggestions ! BTW : The terrain was done with GeoControl..great software !

For your first attempt, you've done an admirable job. Perhaps a sun re-position (try 180 degrees to the opposite) and higher elevation (maybe about 15 to 20 percent higher). Now you'll get more light on the shadowed landforms. Your vegetation coverage is excellent although distance diminishes their effectiveness.

Reverse engineering a tgd from a master craftsman (like TU) is a good way to learn; and you've made a geat start.

What is best about this ... you can see the subtle strata even in the darkest area to the right. Beautiful colors here. Excellent render.

Agree with Bob...it is a little dark but, other than that it looks very real!

C'est magnifique de grandeur ! L'eau est peut-ĂȘtre un peu trop limpide pour ce type de paysage ?
