BIO
For around 20 years I was a professional wedding and portrait photographer winning a couple of Kodak awards but turned to landscapes about a year ago in 2005.In my wedding days I shot on a Bronica 6 x 6 format but my camera now is a Nikon D100 and I feel that digital and Photoshop opened a whole mew world to us guy's and gals. I am based in the UK moving from the south to lancashire at the end of 2005.
So its now 2009..long time since I updated my bio.
Now shoot on a Nikon D200 and process my work through Photoshop CS3.
Been to a lot of places since moving north.Three times to Scotland..going again in September 2009.
Had a week in Snowdonia..brilliant place....cant say the same for the weather we had.Ventured down to Devon...been for a week in Northumbria..had a glorious week on the North Yorkshire coast.Walked miles around the lake district in Cumbria.
Been to west Yorkshire no end of times and that's just the places I can recall.
Tried and tried to improve my photography which if any one looks thru my gallery back to the early days may agree that it has come a long way.
So many places still to see in the UK.We must have some of the loveliest places on earth to photograph here..there will never be enough time.ÂÂ

Yes its for real.First tiem we went the the sky and rain descended and you couldnt se a thing. This is in a long valley with a number of ruins.Took a lot of shots here on the day we returned and even then we got there in sun and left in rain. Guys and families lived in them buildings all week,No sanitation and the only place to wash was the stream. The average lifespan of a quarry man there was 44 years.

that's a beautifully austere piece. it's weird, but i find it very inviting. it's exactly the sort of place i love.

Amazing the hardships people endured to have enough to sustain life....very graphic image...

Harsh conditions but exquisit rugged beauty. The sky you got here seems to pair with the water...it seems to me to run more swiftly as if expecting to fill with rainwater any moment and is on the run from it. Stellar mood and stellar kill put to great use.

Exceptional beauty and harshness! The full view is a must!!! It's a stunning capture!

Stunning image and wonderful mood! I remember being charmed by all the slate used in housing, fences, and bridges like this when I had the opportunity to visit Cornwall last year. This is a superb image!

This is outstanding. One could imagine this as Middle Earth and Frodo Baggins appearing from somewhere. Such austerity, yet rugged beauty. I'm camping in Barmouth this year, and might get sidetracked this way!.

Evocative of Yesteryear and the lore of dragons, Romans and Normans gawking and freezing and griping, and Welshmen prepared to hold their lands forever.
