Description

In addition to being an excellent fighter, the P-47 was also used as a low level attack aircraft. With little or no support from the Luftwaffe, the German troops were often sitting ducks for attacks by prowling Allied fighter bombers. Here a Tiger I and accompanying infantry are in deep trouble. Thanks for viewing and, as always, I appreciate your comments.

Great looking scene! I don't about them, but I'd be running like mad to get away from those bombs coming down

Very good indeed!!! Love it. I think 'RUN AWAY!' would be in order. And bail out for the pilot! Hideously low for a bomb drop? Over to the experts but I think might be. But hey! GREAT Tiger! well cool... Brilliant job, Dave. Rob.

Great scene and POV!!! In Italy the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was known with the nickname of "Pippo", even if others identified the "Pippo" as the Douglas A-20 Havoc or the de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito. My father told me that "his" Pippos were the P-47 also beacuse he was a very clever mechanic and, after the break of the Gothic Line, he helped to fix the Pippos' engines in order to get some food. He reminded that, since he was Italian, some poeple were souspicious about him and told him "If Pippo doesn't came back, you are dead!" meaning that maybe he did some sabotage. All the Pippos my father fixed came back!

Nice render, but I agree with Rob. Too low for skip-bombing, and with wrong attitude. This Angle of Attack is for strafing. At the exact moment you release the bomb, the nose of the plane aims skywards... And he just barely may make it if there aren't any secondary explosions from the Tiger ammo P

The black and white render is a nice touch - but it begs the question of how the "photographer" survived to have his photo developed ;)
