Description

It was a warm and only moderately eventful day today. I'd decided to wander around, looking for interesting and cooperative insects to photograph. Such an act has proven virtually impossible to pull off; Chicago isn't exactly an insect-friendly place in far too many respects. Anything with six legs is simply called a bug, and well...all of the six legged people who were out were...well...typically busy: ants, not surprising. I'd opened negotiations with a bunch of ants belonging to a particularly uncooperative colony and well...none of their photos came out. Luckily, I found a ladybug in the midst of a nap...or a somewhat interesting meal. Who knows? At any rate, here it is. Hopefully everyone is having a great week and thank you for viewing, reading, and commenting.

Excellent detail on this little lady; napping in the sun, perhaps? It looks a lovely spot for a snug snooze. Great work, Chip!

Well, Chip you certainly do have a way with bugs! It's like a natural kinship--or a perpetual love at first sight thing, since they always seem to pose for you. Very nice shot, I like the coloring, and the ladybug really does look very comfortable. It makes me want to doze off in the sun and enjoy a nice nap.

I'm sure being a lady bug with those tiny wings and that big body must be quite tiring. So glad she found a safe spot for a little nap. And that you found her to share with us. CC
