Description

New render from my Savanna scene. The previous one can be viewed here.thumb_1884691.jpg
Actually, this new POV was the starting point (in my mind) for the entire scene: The tense moment just before the cat jumps for the kill - still an open question if he'll be succesful. But I decided to build the complex view - for fun and to get a little two-step "cliffhanger". A few changes here: Different posing of the foreground deer. Vue 7.4 Complete render (nothing 7.4 specific, though). Postwork with Photoshop: Colour/levels correction, lensblur DOF (from Vue z-channel) and framing & signature.
DAZ animals, bigbraader trees & plants.
Now - referring to faroutsider's comment on the previous picture - about mixing species from different parts of the world: The cat is a jaguar (American continent - should be a leopard, but the one I've got was too low-rez). The deer has a sika deer texture (Europe - should be an impala model instead, haven't got one.) As I've stated before: If it's chosen, it's artistic freedom, and not ignorance :) Thanks for taking a look - comments etc. welcome and appreciated. Have a nice day - Lars

Superb image! The POV certainly adds to the tension and dynamics. I mix species all the time, and I acknowledged on your previous image that it's perfectly acceptable. That's the joy of working with 3D programs - you can put anything you like together, and the models don't fidget as you move around to get the right POV and lighting :o))

Thanks for your comments so far. For "faroutsider": Certainly no hard feelings :) It's nice when people take the time to actually LOOK and THINK when commenting/browsing the galleries. Thanks again.

As all the others say I really like the POV, also good work on making the animals seem alive,so it doesn't look like some random plastic figure. I also like the blur, it gives it some depth.

Looks like little bambi has spotted its fate in the eyes of the leopard. Regardless of what animals are native or not the first thing that my eyes see is the suspense and wonder of such scenes. I have to laugh when people point things like that out considering that this place is built on grown people dressing computerized Barbi dolls and posing them. Keep it up Lars, we need you!

This is superb! The viewpoint really helps create a mood in this scene, its the kind of shot they spend weeks trying to get in the TV nature programs - Brilliant work and 6*
