Description

This is the first image I've posted for a while (it's been a busy time at work). It started off as an attempt to make a "hard science" Lander, but the design evolved into something a bit more fanciful. Obviously, the "Voyager 1" from Space: 1999 was a big influence

Maybe not THAT fanciful! If you've seen some designs for the Mars lander.... LOL This isn't that far afield. If it's meant for landing on one of the Jovian moons, it's even better. It LOOKS believable, and exciting given modern technology. Wonderful work, and I want to see it on a moon or Mars in the near future--HERE. Start rendering, you! LOL ^__^V,,

Heh - I saw the Voyager I influence immediately. There's also a bit of Estes' old Mars Lander in there. Great color scheme. The capsule cabin topper feels a bit out of place, though. It looks more like it belongs on a structure than a vehicle.

Nicely done indeed. It still shows as a practical hard science design.

Very nice work! It's nuclear! Looks pretty realistic to me. I like the capsule on top. And the color scheme. I would recommend moving the side thrusters a bit, so the nearest one doesn't line up on the landing leg. Or move the legs.

Excellent design! It has that Gerry Anderson aesthetic (Believable tech and bold style). The paint scheme and markings are perfect! Its always inspiring and fun to see a new image from you, WPL!

I love how clean your modeling is. Clean graphics, clean design. And out of the box thinking. I can't wait to see the scene you put this in. I know it will be pure art.

I've always enjoyed the way you show us a WIP of the vehicle to whet our appetites and then present the final image - this is gonna be another goody!

Looks great and a hell of a lot better than the dumb 'phonebooth' lander the NASA engineers recently came up with. :-)
