Description

Shot taken when me and my good lady, Sylvia went over to visit her daughter Kirsty who lives in Haworth, Yorkshire last week. I noticed a sign at the regular bus stop that this Old Steam Passenger bus was scheduled to run three or four times free of charge for everyone! We got bad news last week, Sylvia has had a terrible loss of hair in recent months and now wears a hat permenantly. We visited a specialist who has diagnosed a condition and told her she will probably lose the whole lot and may never regenerate growth, and consequently will most certainly have to wear a wig. There has been a lot of tears to say the least! Thanks for the amazing support on my last upload, lifted my spirits! Thanks Alan

BUT the NHS does have a huge selection of really high quality wigs, I know as this awful event happenened to both a friend of mine and also a pupil. No consolation, I know.

Sylvia's situation leaves one a bit speechless...wow. Love the steam bus. If we ever had any in the US, I've never seen one. Imagine being in a rush to get to work and having to wait until you could get up a head of steam:-)

Must be fun. Great postwork with a sepia yet a bus stays red.

Very sad indeed..... I feel for Sylvia.... a beautifully lit image nonetheless, with a great effect with the colors and tones...... a deep, and moody atmosphere.. Terrific capture, my Friend

This has been a rough year for her. To be honest though.. after many years of dealing with doctors, I have found that they are often wrong. I cannot count the number of times I have seen misdiagnosis for myself and family.. even from normally very competent doctors. My husband and his grandmother both have had issues of temporarily losing hair in times of high stress. What higher stress than grief? It's possible it might come back once she gets through her grief. If not.. don't give up hope.. there are other options. {{{hugs}}}

Excellent shot and very beautiful selective coloring. Sorry to hear the bad news, but believe me, also doctors can be wrong.

well the only good point is it was not from chemo therapy. too bad about her plight.I think I would not be able to where a wig since I can hardly where a hat excellent capture Alan and it looks like that bus could ford deep streams without a hitch and refill while they were there!!

A unique image and subject here, Alan. I'm so sorry about Sylvia, I know I would have been in tears myself. Like Klaus, I hope the doctors are wrong, but thank goodness for wigs. My best to you both, Alan!
