Renderosity has opened a whole new world to me, its a fantastic place and have had some brilliant support from many new friends.  I retired from work very early through ill health so I took to photography from the very basics.
 Since joining I have grown in confidence with my photography and I now think because of RR that I take it a little more seriously. I started off here using a Fuji Finepix 6500fd, it took some great pictures but I'm hooked now so I have now(April 2008) bought a DSLR SAMSUNG DX10 and having fun learning the settings etc. ( these things take me a while lol)ÂÂ
I am so fortunate to be with a wonderful person in my life, Sylvia. She is not just my partner but of course she's also my best friend. Previously I have been married but seperated a few years ago and have two fantastic children. I NOW have two fantastic grandchildren !!!
My interests are photography, i have had a dabble at Acrylic painting, and I enjoy long walks out in the countryside.      I also have an interest in anything historical.  I want to have a sample of just about everything there is in photography, who knows what the future holds!
Thanks for calling by.    Alan

Sylvia's situation leaves one a bit speechless...wow. Love the steam bus. If we ever had any in the US, I've never seen one. Imagine being in a rush to get to work and having to wait until you could get up a head of steam:-)

Very sad indeed..... I feel for Sylvia.... a beautifully lit image nonetheless, with a great effect with the colors and tones...... a deep, and moody atmosphere.. Terrific capture, my Friend

Oh wow, of all things--please give her my best...

This has been a rough year for her. To be honest though.. after many years of dealing with doctors, I have found that they are often wrong. I cannot count the number of times I have seen misdiagnosis for myself and family.. even from normally very competent doctors. My husband and his grandmother both have had issues of temporarily losing hair in times of high stress. What higher stress than grief? It's possible it might come back once she gets through her grief. If not.. don't give up hope.. there are other options. {{{hugs}}}

Excellent shot and very beautiful selective coloring. Sorry to hear the bad news, but believe me, also doctors can be wrong.

I have uploaded a steam bus as well Alan, when I first saw this one I thought of our trip to Whitby and Old Glory, I thought this was one and the same until I checked that is. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!
Richardphotos
well the only good point is it was not from chemo therapy. too bad about her plight.I think I would not be able to where a wig since I can hardly where a hat excellent capture Alan and it looks like that bus could ford deep streams without a hitch and refill while they were there!!

A unique image and subject here, Alan. I'm so sorry about Sylvia, I know I would have been in tears myself. Like Klaus, I hope the doctors are wrong, but thank goodness for wigs. My best to you both, Alan!
