Le pont Flavien - Saint Chamas (Bouches du Rhône - France) Bâti par les Romains au 1er siècle avant J.C. (vers 10 - 5), à l'époque de l'Empereur Auguste, il fut sauvé de la ruine au début du XVIIème siècle. Maintes fois restauré, il n'en garde pas moins la classe d'un monument rare. Il est demeuré l'unique pont reliant Marseille à Arles par la rive nord de l'Étang de Berre avant la deuxième guerre mondiale, période à laquelle un pont provisoire en bois, (remplacé en 1955 par le pont actuel), fut jeté sur la Touloubre après la destruction accidentelle de l'arche nord en Août 1944 par les troupes américaines, (dommages réparés après le conflit). Le charme de cet édifice tient surtout aux deux arcs qui l'encadrent et qui nous sont parvenus dans un état de conservation remarquable. The Pont Flavien. Bridge built by the Romans during the 1st century B.C. under the reign of Emperor Augustus. It was saved from decay at the beginning of the XVIIth century and has since been restored many times, but still possesses the class of a rare monument.
