Description

When I purchased this specimen from a grower 5 years ago, it was only but a twig with a few branches. It is a Japanese maple (acer palmatum) known as the Red Dragon and originates from New Zealand. It will grow into a mound like structure some 7 to 8 feet in height and one can literally walk into and underneath its canopy when mature. The fine, lacy leaf structure will retain its bold red color into the Autumn season. Enjoy the photo and thanks for viewing and any comments you care to leave. Frame with PhotoScape 3.3

Great capture, Keith. One of my personal favorite trees. Some of the most beautiful bonsai trees are shaped from acer palmatum. You need to train the buggar. #:o)

You did a great job with this one Keith as they are one of my favorite trees. My parents have one but it is not nearly this big.
