We have a Cardinal nest in one of our bushes so I have been watching the mother come and go from the nest. I was waiting nearby under cover from a lilac bush when she came in to the nest. I had my camera set for multiple frames and was pre-focused when she came into view. This shot is untouched other than cropping. It seems that the bush was a bit darker being half in the shade and she was fully in the sun causing the over exposure. I got some other shots of her perched on the branches before she went into the nest where she is quite clear. The photographer in me is disappointed with the result but the artist in me likes the net result.
