Description

I'd gone to the Art Institute here in Chicago, with Corey, to meet with friends--Andrea, and Larry. Things have changed in this city since my first departure, and I was pleased to know that the Art Institute opened a new wing, dedicated to more modern forms of art. What intrigued me more than the art, however, were the people who'd gone to view it. There are times when humans themselves are an artistic expression. I think that's what I like about humans...well...most of them any way. I can do without the icky ones. As always, thank you for viewing and reading and commenting, and hopefully all is going quite well.

I remember this day very well and it was a lot of fun getting together with old friends to view new art. I've lived in Chicago off and on for over 25 years and think it's kind of funny how you do the touristy things during the first year and then get on with your life. I hadn't been to the art museum since about 1990, and it was refreshing being back ,and gave me a new appreciation for the city. I like this picture very much, especially the almost robotic self absorption of people experiencing works of art in their own way and how you've captured the reality of the situation. I also enjoy the "antiquing" post work you've done which gives the picture its own arty quality and also reminds me of an old newspaper still or the back side of a late Seventies/early Eighties New Wave album featuring a picture of the band. Nice work.

This feels like an art piece all by itself, the way everyone is going in a different direction. You and Corey seem to be rediscovering the city, I love doing that! This is great!!

When your image unrolled top to bottom, the very first millisecond the faces came into view, I knew it had been shot at a place of contemplation. You captured the dynamism between the players just fine.

You did an excellent capture! And my reasons are: i "feel" their mouvement, and i "feel" their alive looking and their thoughts too!! For me, this is what is touching me!Bravo.

And there ARE so many icky ones, and some of the even vote. The tone of this definitely enhances the image and feeling of artistry. Actually, you took it in the right place. Quite possibly, set in a different environment, the same people might have struck you entirely different. The environment, here, set the mood.
