Description

Another shot using the 55-200mm lens and a lot of crawling on my belly, lol. I spotted this snake as it was basking on the edge of my pond. I first noticed it when I was about 20 foot away. It helped that prior observation had hinted at where to expect it during that time of day. I squatted down and SLOWLY duck walked to within about 12 foot of it. I then SLOWLY sat down and shifted position until I was on my stomach and facing the correct way. I spent another 5 minutes Slowly inching forwards until I was within about 6 foot. I started shooting pics and inching forward, shooting pics and inching forward. I finally had closed the gap to about 4 foot. This pic and the next two I plan on posting were taken from that distance. I had my chin on the ground for the last two images from this series. I might also mention that it was a very humid day and my glasses were constantly fogging up, lol. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

I could imagine how you crawl, snake-like, on your belly through the fields. Some people are laughing about me when I do the same. Great shot indeed.
