Description

Made in Bryce 6 and Tweaked in PhotoShop6. Land textures and sky by me, water is stock. Playing with new textures/material, since for some reason since I upgraded to 6, I can not find my old ones or some of my old work, guess they are not compatible with 6, oh well. Been a while since I posted anything, been a bit busy and when I am not busy then I am down. Sometimes just can not get interested in anything or get obsessed with one, makes life interesting sometimes. Let's see, finally got everything to Kentucky. Went through a ice storm didn't bother us too much here at home, but the family in Kentucky got it just about 78 miles from here. Only lost one shed and two cars (that did not run and we were planning on getting rid of them anyway) a tree got them. Sherry had her neck surgery to replace two discs that decided they were leaving. She is doing real good getting ready to start physical therapy. Hopefully now she will be less pain, still have to wait on that though, at least the nerves are not crimped any more. Made it through a land based hurricane here at home, luckily no damage to my house except for the basement flooding, could not drain fast enough to keep the water down. My lost one shed and a lot of things we had thought lost, the neighbors and us found them, got everything back but the roof to the shed and one garden hoe. Other than those exciting events not much else is going on. Just traveling back and forth from here to Kentucky looking after all the family members or at least trying to.

A nice landscape, Rick. Maybe a slight influence of China, with that towering island in the middle. I like the water, and the foreground texture. The wispy atmospher and morenatural background hills seem to lend it an air of unreality, somehow. You do indeed visit some nice planets, my friend. As for your escapades, I must state that I'm so glad that you've not been really busy, Rick .. ;o) Isn't life interesting? I often look back at what I've done, and wonder how it was all possible, then I remember that I was not alone. He was with me all of the way. On the occasions when I have relied only on myself, I've gone three steps backwards ( at least ). With all the near things I have been involved in, over the years, I suspect that I might have been given two guardian angels, just in case. Sometimes I go through periods when I can't just rouse the enthusiasm to do anything. Then I look back over my life, and relive, again, the peaks and troughs, coming slowly around to committing my trust in Jesus, whom I discover, was sitting quietly by my side, all the time, just waiting to be asked.. I offer my prayers for you and those for whom you care, my dear friend. May God keep and guide you all. As one of my favourite religious authors, Mother Basilea Schlink, a German Lutheran nun, said," Only good things come from God's hands. He never gives you more than you can bear. Every burden prepares you for eternity". Mind you, Mother Teresa of Calcutta used to say, with her tongue in her cheek, no doubt, that she sometimes wished that God did not find her so capable.. ;o) God bless and good night, my friend, John.

Really like the mountains and water in this image, plus the way objects further away become more faded in their color. The stretch of land in the foreground could perhaps use a little more work, though. Grow some convincing-looking grass on it and this image will be close to perfect. :)
