Continuing on with the retexturing and new shaders for the remaining two recurring characters in this series.
Of course, Kuila is Aranée's constant lion cub companion. He is growing fast now...
Do you remember Amikas? He was the healer in the town of Melius who treated her after her fight with the Packran lioness. Yes, he will return...
Almost a straight render: Had a couple of seams and render artifacts that refused to adjust out of the picture, so I had to paint over them. This is the same background set used in the other makeovers. Also, the metal, leather, velvet and skin surfaces are all using the exact same surface shaders I used for Aranée, with a few minor tweaks of course.
The light is an experiment, too. This is my latest formula for "strong sunlight." I like how it turned out but it renders FOREVER. This very simple scene took 5 HOURS to render.

Excellent work on the textures and shaders. His beard and hair looks a bit hard though. Not sure what your using or if your painting it but to soften it up - maybe add a bit of grey.

Five hours to render? The result looks great, but Yikes! Like both of these makeovers. Kuila does seem to be growing up fast - the body shape is less cub-like and more cat-like. And glad to see the old healer is going to be a recurring character. I quite liked the old guy. Nice work!
