Description
This is the most feared snake in Costa Rica (and wherever it makes its habitat). The reason being that the Fer-de-lance causes more deaths to humans than any other reptile in the American continent. This one gave us a good scare when it appeared on the trail at night while photographing the elusive Red-Eyed-Tree Frogs. Thankfully no one got bit.
