Description

After seeing the new Star Trek (and how fanboy inspired time travel can ruin an otherwise perfectly great film!) I decided to try and redesign the Enterprise in my own way. Not that I didn't like the retooled 60's era one in the film (it is actually among my favourite designs for the Enterprise), but since I found I greatly wanted a fresh reboot for the franchise (and only got a mutation instead) I figured I'd go for a totally fresh new look. It's only really 60% finished, and pretty much just from this angle, but thought I'd throw it out there. Suggestions are more then welcome.

Great remake of the Enterprise! Looks like its got lots armor for protection! :) I wonder why the Enterprise never had a launching bay where it could launch smaller fighter craft from? Guess it was too small. :)

That looks great On this one it looks like the rear nacelles could be adjusted wider or closer (a bit like an x-wing) for different flying conditions. I think it's the texture you've used on the hull between them that gives me that idea.

Kamperbeyond, Pretty sweet! E.Houser, I believe that all canon versions of the Enterprise have had shuttles (also shuttlepods and later runabouts)and shuttle bays (while I don't recall one being displayed for NCC 1701-C, it's pretty safe to assume that it had one). Also, a complement of fighters would likely be more difficult for a peaceful ship of exploration to justify as being defensive than phasers and photon torpedoes...
