Description

Two Atlantic Puffins pass the time on the beach and take care of an itch. I wanted to try an 'extreme' pose with my new Puffin model (such as scratching) and test drive the bird in Vue as well. While not perfect (I'll be tweaking the joint parameters some more), I'm happy enough with the result to share the image. Rendered in Vue 7.4i with no postwork. Models: Rocks (RDNA), Puffins (Me) and Coastal Groundcover(Gamebox Studios)

Quaint, but cute birds. I guess is the markings that sort of make then look a little sad. Lovely render. Jan

They look fantastic and real, only the scratching pose doesn't look too natural.

Thanks for the comments... as for the pose not being natural: http://www.seabird.org/birds-puffin.asp but the fact that someone doesn't not read it as natural means I still need some work on the pose. I do think I'll add some adjustment such as the tail angling more to the left to counter balance the body. But now it's time to create the crested and horned puffins :)
