Description
St Mary's church is situated a short distance from Scarborough Castle, high above the harbour and the old town. The church was badly damaged during the siege of the Castle in 1644-45, and its central tower collapsed in 1659. The current tower dates from 1669.

Lovely little church. Interesting story about the tower. I would never have guessed that it was newer than the rest of the building.
