Description

In Cornwall, a hedge is generally a built structure or bank with or without a stone facing. Frequently, these are topped with woody trees, plants and shrubs and, sometimes but not always, form hedgerows, as in this shot. The number of flowers and plants and animals that can be found is at times quite amazing. The typical Hedge is often very tall and one possible complaint maybe it is then difficult to look over them as you walk or drive through, the beautiful countryside. They have defined the Cornish landscape for centuries and today provide a distinct local identity quite different from other areas of the country where hedgerows are more common. It is very interesting to see and learn about places I've never seen and perhaps will never see but I can always dream about and visit them with shots like this, excellent shot Danny and thanks for the beautiful visit!!

Fine photo. My experience with English hedgerows comes from watching many episodes of "Keeping Up Appearances" starring Patricia Routledge:-), "Richard, mind the pedestrian."
