Description
"Auld Colonel Telnoch Camarran, fought loyally and clinically for nearly thirty years in many foreign wars. He supported the imperial ambitions of the Baelfurean Empire, even though he hated
their 'Rough Wooin' of his beloved Dalriata'. Auld Tell, as he was affectionately known by his troops, was finally disabled in the chaos of the weeklong Battle for Kerrallane, during the Second Great Southron War. After surviving battlefield surgery, he was sent home with not only a generous Company pension, but also in possession of an undisclosed 'treasure' given him by the thankful Sooltan of Keerana.
"Returning home, he settled in that most desolate of places, on Dalriata's 'Free Seas', the Sea Barony of the Barryn Isles, situated in the cold northern Dalriatan waters. Esconced as the local sea-laird, Auld Tell often recounted stories of his more peaceful exploits serving in the East Gharamm Company's mercenary army.
"In addition he never failed to insist to his audience, his long suffering wife and thre daughters, retainers and the local fishers that the view, from his auld keep on Barryn Mohr, was, admitedly colder and starker, but essentially very similar to that which he had enjoyed as Governor of a fortress, during his only unsucessful campaign.
"That was in the disease-ridden, though fabulously rich Spice Lands, against a fellow Dalriatan. The latter eventually became one of the Twin Kings, founding a dynasty that lasted for several centuries, finally halting the expansion of the Baefurean, later Angleesh Empire, in that part of the Orient".
HEROES OF AULD DALRIATA IN THE EARLY EMPIRE, a History of Empire Builders, Poets and Disidents in the Western Lands, by Armstrong and Guelph, Pristine Press, Edwinesburra..
Using my earlier terrain, slightly remodelled, I chose Chipp Walters' TERRAMATs ( from the Cornucopia 3D store ) and some other MATS to rejig my 'Far Fae Hame / Far From Home' offering of February. I ended up with this much faster ( c.1m35s ), and cleaner version.
The rugged foreground of Barryn Mohr Island resembles some west coast cliffs, in the varied geology of the real Scotland.
