Description
Hi Everyone, I caught up with this swift mover at mealtime, hope you like it. My only gripe with this Sony is in the system as it came out of the box...the lens has no manual focus and the automatic sensors are a hit and miss. The lens is constantly trying to spot my centering. With small insects that move or a breeze that changes the scene it gets frustrating. I admit I did not use the focus lock and went shot to shot. This was knowing my every photo would likely be a different situation. A wide learning curve I guess. My next purchase will be a lens with a manual ring for focus for sure. Wishing the camera had a preset mode selector whereby if I set it to spot metering, spot focus, flash off, single shot auto focus, etc it would only require one button push not seventeen nudges. Enough ramble, Hope the day is good for you all. -GB-

Fine execution even with the difficulties. I really liked my first DSLR, but now on my upgrade I got rid of all those little annoyances. But how do you really know without first hand experience?

My problem is I don't try manual focus but you have made me think yeah perhaps I should! this is a fantastic macro!

This is wonderful. Love the delicate shadows of the wing veins. I had three Sony's before the Nikon. They got me up to 8 megapixels, and I actually missed their focus system at first when I got the Nikon. It takes a while, to comprehend all the subtleties of the whole manual. More than a month or two, or more than a year and a half, in my own case. Just yesterday I was learning more about the basic buttons and dials, in fact. Hehe.

Fantastic capture with the delicate wings shadowed on the leaf. Your damsel fly appears to have just finished lunching on another bug. Great job!

I have the same problem with my camera only mine has a manual focus. I just haven't gotten the hang of it. I must be doing something wrong! But you certainly did something right here! Wonderful shot.

excellent macro and even with an expensive dedicated macro lens it is not always easy to escape dof problems and focusing on the right spot
