Description

The Grande Bibliothèque building The Grande Bibliothèque, a vast public space 33,000 metres square in the heart of Québec's largest city Montreal, is an exceptional cultural rendez-vous providing open and free access to more than four million documents, including one million books. Essentially, all collections are part of two major ones: a universal lending and reference collection and the national collection. In addition, the Grande Bibliothèque provides specialized services for, among other groups, children aged 0 to 13, teenagers, business people, newcomers to Québec, members of cultural communities and persons with visual or other impairments. A World to Discover Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (B.A.N.Q.) invites you to take a guided tour of the Grande Bibliothèque to appreciate the richness of its collections and better understand the on-site and remote services provided. Participants will also learn about the institution’s history and its mission. The tour lasts 90 minutes and is offered to the general public in French and English.
