the question will is, does a non-tooned comic look okay, or do you think this would be better if the images were tooned somehow?

Maybe you should post a segment done both ways. Like the above with a toon version too. Do a few in the series that way. It might help seeing them viewed side by side to compare. I like this way but I also like your tooned version in the past.

I went back to your gallery and looked at the previous pages, Shadownot's right, try a "tooned up" version next. We'll see.

Best page so far...:) To toon or not to toon...? I'm all for tooning. Maybe it would be interesting to render the characters separately from the background, then toon the characters and leave the background as is. I find that this technique gives an interesting visual effect.
