Description

This is just a little waterfall I have captured at the Pretoria zoo earlier this year. It was a boiling hot day and the spray from this quint water feature was quite refreshing! Thank you for all the comments and advice on the use of a GPS on my last upload. I had a couple of good giggles!!! Thank you also to those who chose it as a fav! Take care! Hugs, Carin xx

beautiful framing and colours, I like the slightly feathery border too.. something about the highlights and midtones seems to be slightly subdued (tonemapped perhaps?), not bad thing, I find it helps add to a slightly contemplative and introspective feel, nice work ;)

In the years I ran the children's petting zoo out at our state fair, I had to dress up myself and my son, who was 2 years old, in 1900-garb. Temperatures topped 100 degrees and there we sat in a large pen of goats, sheep, calves, turtles... all those animals that give off such a distinctive aroma...:-) At the high point of the day when the heat made even the burro swoon, I would close the petting zoo for a 30-minute break and my boy and I would speed over to the small waterfall in the next exhibit. Off came those brown leather, high topped, lace-up shoes and thick cotton socks... I drew up my 4 layers of gingham, ankle-length skirts to my thighs, and the boy folded his overalls over his knees and like some kind of hillbillies we would wade in as close as we could to catch that swirling water and rising misty spray. This really reminds me of that... good memories now, but I sure didn't think much of it at the time! This is a stunning shot and so very refreshing!

Very sweet shot, does seem like the spray would be wonderful. I took my son to one of those huge amusement parks and my favorite places were the fountains that did just that--sprayed you with a cool mist. I paid a lot of money for those drops!!

Stellar light/shadow, contrasts and freeze capture of the water as it cascades over the edge down into the lake below. Not to be ignored is the wonderful POV employed to present this glorious image.
