Description
Pickering is the southern terminus of the North York Moors Railway - a famous steam railway which carries passengers through the heart of the North York Moors National Park to the villages of Goathland (famous as "Aidensfield" in the popular TV series Heartbeat) and the north eastern terminus at Grosmont, near Whitby on the Yorkshire Coast.

This is a wonderfully vibrant picture. The last time I went there to try and take some shots there were no trains in the yard and the time before that it was pouring down with rain!! Fantastic photo!

Love the old Deltic loco sat there. It was the only great looking diesel loco ever built. :-)

The class 40 in the scene is pure class. They were nicknamed "Whistlers" by the spotting fraternity, and it was a fitting name. Beautiful shot.
