Description

I am awed by those human beings who run their lives and earn their living away from the madding crowd, such as the owners of those farmsteads and chalets perched on top of this impregnable slanted rocky fortress off the little village of Isenfluh (Switzerland)...close to heaven! I took this photo two weeks ago as I was hiking just opposite, on the Schynige Platte, facing the three Alpine giants reaching about 4,000 metres in altitude: Jungfrau, MÃ¶nch and Eiger.

Je suis admiratif de ces êtres humains qui mènent leur vie et gagnent leur pain loin de la foule, comme les propriétaires de ces fermes et chalets perchés au sommet de cette forteresse imprenable, tout à côté du petit village d'Isenfluh, en Suisse...tout près du paradis! J'ai pris cette photo il y a quinze jours alors que je randonnais sur le plateau de la Schynige Platte, face aux trois géants alpins de 4000 mètres: la Jungfrau, le Münch et l'Eiger.

Beauty of mother nature perfect catched! One of the finest mountain shots I have ever seen. What is its secret? I don`t know. Maybe the POV? It shows a stunning difference between us and nature. Humans and their flats looking like ants... We should think about from time to time.

I think I share your awe. It's truly amazing the things people can do to not only survive, but thrive in the unlikeliest places. To perch a homestead on that forbidding rocky spur is a magnificent achievement. All that said, your photo of it is also a real gem, great color and just enough detail to really make out the impressive terrain and the homestead perched on it.
