Your image reminds me of "Journey to the Centre of the Earth". This was before I read the poem, then the first and last verse are in keeping with my first thought, only that the last verse you missed out the element of water. Awesome image, wonderful prose, has to be a keeper for me. Bravo!!!!! Warm skies, hot fire, cracked earth, needs cool water. Warm hugs.
