Hi my name is Peter!
I was born November 7 1946 in Victoria Australia. I'm married and have been blessed with five beautiful daughters, I'm also a grandfather to 11 grandchildren. I have work most of my life in the metal industry welding, lathe operating, tool making, and toward the end had a change of career working with trains in the Victorian Railways, I have since retired. My main interests are Oil Painting, Drawing, and I like using programs such as Paintshop Pro which I have used since its conception, Photoshop 7, Bryce 5.5, Poser 6,Terragen,Silkypix. Also Computers have had a strong influence on me in the last 17 years. Also teaching computer skills to the locals in my community kept me busy for some time but being a very small community Iv'e now run out of people to teach. One other hobby of mine is the translation of many different languages into english, it's fun to know what other cultures are saying and also is very useful in Rederosity for giving and returning comments. Most of my time goes into Photography and learning as much as I can about my new camera which is the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 18X Digital Camera. The Genre that I like the most is Macro so that is mostly what you will see in my Gallery.

This is incredible. I love the geometry of it...the upthrusting trunks, the fallen trunks with carbon scoring. Great, moody work. I particularly like the sense of color. The greenery, the light, and the hints of wood tones is fascinating and works perfectly here. I also love the signs of regeneration. It's amazing, but not so unexpected...nature is quite resilient, and as I heard in the remake of "the Day the Earth Stood Still" if earth dies, we die...if we die, earth survives. THAT keeps things in an interesting perspective! Great shot here, and a wonderful visual commentary.

as disastrous as it may seem, it does renew the forest and the fallen trees provides homes and food to many species.---but looking at it the contrary seems true

Wonderful to see, especially those tree-ferns! I did the same up on the heath this week, very interesting to see which species are most resilient.

What an outstanding photo to be proud of. I am always amazed how quickly the forest can regenerate itself. Which part of Victoria are you from?
