Description

hello all :), i hope you're all enjoying your summer so far. mine has gotten off to a great start. i've been vacationing for a little over a month and i am feeling preetty darn good at the moment. todays piece is a manip of a photo i took recently featuring my personal heroes, jen, amanda, jim and rebekka some of my long time friends and coworkers.we were at our local pub's weekly jam session when i noticed they were sort of sitting as if posing for an ad for the 'heroes' tv show (needless to say i'm a fan lol). luckily since a few months i've had my camera with me when we've hung out together to capture all our crazy moments and memories. it took a few shots to actually get the right angles and expressions without them really trying to pose it. from there it was off to my trusty ps.what happened then is a complete mystery. i found that some of the filters i use are completely unpredictable when combined with line art or cartooning filters and actions.so much so that i don't have a clue how the effects here came about. i repeated the process several times as layers but i won't ever be 100% sure it would work the same for anyone else the same way because of the behavior of the filters and my ps version.at some point i may ask someone to take a crack at it to see if some of you comic artists might have a use for this style.at the moment i'm doing a set of manips featuring more of my friends.i can't wait to see what i'll learn this go round. at any rate i am as always grateful for the kind words you've written on my images as well as the many favs and i hope you enjoy this one just as much. *hugs and regards* lee

Ok so what would be their powers if they were on the show.. I like Heroes too. It would be interesting if you did a follow-up of them as charcters. The young lady in the back looks to me as if her powers are technically inclind.. The guy next to her...hmm manipulator of sounds, reshape it or something. the next young lady... darkness The last girl, while i cant think of what it would be,.. but that innocent and cute face face terrifies me for somt reason.

Wow .. very excellent photo manipulations! I did this once, with a pic of my dog out at the Hollow, in the morning. It came out blurred, and I was so disappointing as it would have been an excellent pic. I played with filters .. and got the most excellent image. I have NO idea how I did it. I've tried to replicate it many times .. no dice. I hope you figure out how you did, it's a very cool result! And such a wonderful commentary on your friends, they must be very honored to be your heroes.
