Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Great capture and a great place to visit - it was all covered with snow and ice the last time I was there.

wow, some great chicago history in the comments, love the question from Harry, and love andrea's "so you didn't go in..." Yeah, the Art Institute has a very famous collection of 19th & early 20th C European art, one of the best impressionistic & post impressionistic collections outside of France. And it's a very dear place to all who go there. (I almost lived there when I was in school, as my girlfriend at the time was a grad student there—in art—while I did my grad work south of there, at the U. of Chicago in Hyde Park [where they split the atom...kinda gives you the jitters...]) And you caught the facade, that old late 19th C. early 20th 'monumental' type of facade; and your angle is complementary to it's strong presence; and of course the lions have become iconic to people who go there all the time. I've noticed that, in your captures of the more monumental facades, you get a fine-tuned set of hues; that is, the somewhat bland colors of these stones take on a quiet elegance and tonal purity through your lens. I'll speak to that in another upload. But I see it here. Not bad for a drive-by shot! (Great title!) You got the exterior to a tee!

Been there! Have a selection of 'Drive By's' to post over time as well.... as a laugh! Your picture though is of course of the highest quality. Stunning view and surprisingly good considering Rog was driving! (Sorry Rog!!!) Lol. Rob.
