Description


The Epiphaneia Nebula is a bright diffuse nebula in the constellation Lycanthropus; cataloged as NGC 4861. It is about 1,000 light-years distant and as many as 60 light-years in diameter. This image was created by the 3200 megapixel Large Synoptic Fractal Telescope perched a top of Cerro Apophysia in Chile. With it's supercomputer, and giant data processing, analysis, and distribution system, the LSFT telescope will produce an entirely new view of our "Fractal Universe" enabling unforeseen explorations of discovery for the next generation of stargazers...
