Description

The lava is about 300 ft below the surface floor of Halemaumau crater. Every now and then, you will hear a sudden burst of gas rushing sounds coming from within. It keeps you alert and on your toes. Aloha and thank you for viewing

Wow, Errol, I hope you had a telephoto lens. The cauldron is so perfectly circular it reminds me of the huge pots used in steel mills. Excellent capture. Be careful!
