Description
This was taken with my phone, through the windshield of my car about 100 feet from my house. In person, the ray was about twice as bright as in the picture and a lot more red. I've never seen anything like it before.

a strange and beautiful shot, very good considering phone and windshield. maybe the sun was shining through dust or volcanic ash in the upper atmosphere.
