Description
A lone figure and his trusty beast of burden race across the desert wilderness of a desolate planet in a desperate attempt to outrun a fast moving sandstorm and reach the safety of a mysterious temple carved from the rock.
Figure is Michael 3 in a combination of The Scout and Wildenlander outfits,with the Tawhak and riding gear(all from Daz3D and posed in DazStudio).Some textures on the figure's outfit are Bryce presets.Six custom terrains make up the landscape,with the foreground texture a customized preset using a wood grain texture to create wind-carved ripples.All other textures are customized presets.A final terrain was used to create the temple entrance,using various brushes in the brush preset library.It incorporates a bump map of a stone wall from Arroway Textures to add more texture to the terrain preset.Two large spheres rendered in a dust volumetric create the swirling sand,with a smaller sphere in same texture added to base of figures to represent sand kicked up as they race to the temple.The sky,atmo and lighting are customs,and the image was rendered in Superfine setting.
Postwork includes signature and footprints in the sand.Thanks for viewing and all your previous comments!

Definitely a must see full size to appreciate all of the fine detail work you have included here. The ripples in the sand are really creative and how you created them is worth trying. The temple carved into the rocky cliff is a great idea and the sandstorm approaching is wicked work. Very well done, Neil.

Nice job on that sand ripple effect! Love the scene, it has sort of a India Jones/Star Wars feel to it (Petra and Tatooine).

There's always sanctuary to be found in any gallery that features a lot of sci-fi or fantasy image... well, that's what I think. Love this image - Great atmosphere, nicely balanced composition, simple premise and to the point. Good work!
