War war I, on the left my grandfather, he was 60 at the time, had been recalled in service with the beginning of the war. On the right father (the officer at center), 22 at the time. The dedi is "to a naughty girl, with love". It was never sent. The date is jewish, so the naughty girl was too, I found the snap after father's death, so I don't know who the naughty girl was (but I have an idea). I had a surprise posting this, because I had never checked before the date, I always thought he had written it during the war, but it translates to 1925. So he was using his hero image and the big gun to impress a girl several years later. Nothing to do with mother, they only met about 12 years later, and she wasn't jewish.
