Description

as many will recognize this as being the former Reunion Arena. our not so smart local government thinks that it is a good idea for the city to own and manage a hotel. when governments where ever can not manage the day to day operations of their business why do they think that they can do better when private development was not interested in making a hotel in this place I was busy all yesterday trying to fix an error in bookkeeping and one thing or another kept interrupting. I will try this morning again so until I finish I can not visit the galleries much thanks for looking and any comments

Great commentary. I can't help but think there is a school or church that could have used those seats that are being trashed along with tax payers money.

It is always amazing what people do in what they think will "improve" their wealth and not our lives who are affected by them. Well done.

Great captures! I'm not too sure about the government running a hotel. I think you hit the mark with your comment.

What a great POV! Something else looking at this from such an incredible and all encompassing view! Great lighting and detail... can't help but wonder what this place must of been like when it was, at some point "alive" and well... Original and creative composition, my friend!

Our local government is the same as yours and yet they can't do the simple things right either. Great captures.

McCoy phrased it perfectly: "The bureaucratic mentality is the only constant in the universe." What a shame to destroy a good source of revenue like a sports arena and put up...ANOTHER hotel. Brilliant. But then, we're talking politics with that...n'uf said. THAT said, wonderful captures. Interesting how they left the breezeway there and are demolishing everything under it. A very compelling image and, sadly, a sign of the times.

Awww, geez, this breaks my heart! Been to some great concerts there and so sad to see it go. The new AA center was the final nail in the coffin. Nice shots, Richard.

Interesting shot of this stadium. You get these shots that really show the largeness of what you're looking at. Really cool stuff.

Ours actually owned a Hotel, up until it was sold in the beginning of this year it was the worst hotel and convention center in the area. The new owns have made a lot of improvements and are still renovating it. Interesting capture.
