Description

Pre-digital camera, Fujichrome film. Some folk are squirrels. They overload attics, storage cupboards, and the like with goodies once esteemed but now replaced or discarded. This farmer did it on a grander scale. A huge and decrepit barn was filled with machinery and sundry bits and pieces, with the older mouldering at the back. You could either say it was a treasure trove or a collection of rubbish - but always ripe material for the searching eye. Photographers, at their best, go beyond reality. They become would-be magicians in their search for beauty or expressiveness when practising this modern skill. We grow through questioning and cameras become more than an extension to the eyes. They encapsulate the transient -trap the thought. Cliff.
