Still playing with cargo ship ideas. This scene is deep background for my novel, set in the days of the protagonist's father on late twenty-fifth century Earth. It's more than a century since an ... um, earth-shattering... war, and large areas of mankind's homeworld is post-apocalyptical or dystopian, with some scattered prosperous arcologies and cities and with large stretches of depopulated wasteland. Technology is starting to come back, but most of the recovery is happening on terraformed Venus and Mars and in the Asteroid Belt. Contact and trade between Earth and the rest of the solar system is mostly done with second-hand offworld technology or increasingly rare remnants of higher technology. This lander is the first in a series of cargo vessels I'd like to design for use as background for other renders. But, as usual, I might get distracted by other things -- Squirrel!!!
