Description
This was an experiment. I initially created a tree with TreeDruid and rendered it out in Lightwave with the Fakemetric Camera plugin that simulates an orthogonal view. Saved it out with it's alpha map and color map.
Then I created the simple ground plane and populated it with single polygon objects and mapped the tree onto it and used the alpha as a clip map. Render time was exremely fast and I think it still looks realistic enough. I did a panning animation and it looks realistic throughout. What a time saver!
