Description
This one is for Claire, my beautiful wife. How she puts up with me I will never know. She sticks by me no matter what, and I know without her, I would have nothing.
Six months unemployment takes its toll, financially and mentally. Its hard to realise that at 41 years of age, your desirability as a
potential employee is somewhat lessened, and that fifteen years experience in retail management counts for very little. In complete
paradox, I can't even get a job as a shop assistant because I am "too experienced"... I know I am a little hard to live with at the
moment, I get depressed and angry at times and I close myself off. But she understands, and I love her all the more for that.
I had a dream when I was a kid, that one day I would make a living out of my art. It never happened; the drawing, painting and photography took a back seat and gradually diminished to the point where I no longer even thought about it. Now I find my passion for creativity has resurfaced, though with a new medium, but the dream has changed. The important thing is creating images that have depth, that say something about how I feel or what I think, that
the viewer can appreciate and maybe find a little of themselves in there, and its an outlet for me. So I hope you all like this one.
The mood is kind of like mine at the moment. Its not perfect, but nothing ever is...
...Except my wife.

A great image with mood and light. I know how you feel about work me have same and is hard. Me did photography and little by little stopped and also lost work. Be indeed proud and happy that you have person(wife) to share good and bad. A laugh or cry. Perfect is something you dont want since then nothing to need, hope, pray or live for. Very nice image! I understand how you feel. Me and my boyfriend are going threw the same thing. He's been out of work for almost 9 months. Takes a great toll on a relationship and tests us both. But we love each other, and cant let money come between us.

Your image is beautiful and has strong pathos. I can understand how you must feel as my husband is suffering a similar situation. I have been fortunate as an art teacher I have helped many young people on their way into art. However, as my own art has suffered, I have found a wonderful outlet in digital imaging and 3d modelling. We know that artistic people can never escape the need to produce some form of art.
