Description

This is the promised yesterday's image taken a stage further, and possibly a step too far for many. Life is constructed around decisions. Take the home - your home. You pondered on what to include in your surroundings, and possibly for a combination of utilitarian and aesthetic characteristics. There is probably an outlay of precious monetary resource involved. Care is taken in the acquisition, placement, but with some thought to the attention of others. With all this behind, your attention narrows. Familiarity enables concentration. This picture perhaps says something on that. Does it also say anything about the compositional or design principles which guide artists when making an image presentable to others? We lead the eye, we focus attention, we attempt to transfer thought or attention. We communicate. Strangely, what we actually communicate depends more on the viewer. You'll know this well enough when you puzzle over what makes a painting or other work of art special and worth millions to a collector or gallery. You'll know what I mean. Hirst, Koons, spring easily to mind but every age had its contentious names - those which pushed (or were pushed) at the boundaries of contemporary standards. Maybe we should expect new art to proffer a degree of uneasiness. Should we look for it? Well, questioning is always good. Thus we learn. Thus individuality enhanced becomes expressive. My thanks to everyone who has bothered to look at my strange visual concoctions and borne with these equally puzzling arrays of words. As for your comments: raw gold - treasures! Cliff.

Very impressionistic. Creative and original. Creates a heightened sense of visual inspection.
