Description

Another angle of my interpretation of the re-imagining of the original series Enterprise. One thing about Andrew Probert's design that bugged me in recent times is that there was room for an aft phaser bank on the upper saucer. The impulse engines looked great when it was a simple shade, but when rendered, it didn't quite look right. Kept it reasonably true to how it looked on the original series, but also looked more realistic by giving it 6 rocket like engines. Added coverings to the fusion reactors in case of such an emergency. I had thought about using the plasma vent behind the ramscoops like on the original series, but with the cowling, it just didn't look right. So totally redesigned the plasma vent.

was watching a still 'later' version Through a Mirror Darkly, and they did have a rear phaser bank on the Defiant...however, that's a CG model, you can put anything anywhere...;) great work.

Yep, all by myself. Used a tonne of reference drawing and cross sections for both this and the original.
