My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.

Yep, but your the odd one out hehehe!! I think it an excellent way for us to see the close up of the textures and the colours within the patterns of the pots. Very nice capture indeed!!
lyron

Splendid capture, intense mix of tones almost metalic!

I do not really care what the people thought of you my "nutty" friend, but I can tell you what I think of this image! Absolutely gorgeous! I just love everything about it - the colors of the ocean, the light, the texture, the tight crop.. all coming together making this a winning piece of art!!! Well done indeed Tara! :)
durleybeachbum
SUPERB! Not odd at all!
PD154
They are the ODD ones, who have no conception of art as seen by the artist, this is lovely Tara!
Faemike55
Nope, not at all!
bmac62
Just think about it this way...they've forgotten you in an hour or two...all of us get to remember these gorgeous pots as long as your gallery is here. We win!!! :-)
MrsRatbag
I love these greens, it reminds me of the broken seawashed glass that shows up on beaches. Odd, you? Never. It's them. This is lovely!
beachzz
Nope, they're the oddballs--taking fotos of pots in places is a MOST ordinary thing to do for those of us with cameras in our hands!! And of course, I love this, because it does indeed make me thing of wonderful beachy days. aaahhh.....
dbrv6

I love your vase and the geometry of the design...The colours are beautiful but somehow magical... and it look like a musical instrument...may be that has sound..
hipps13

MrsLubner
Well, Tara, first they would have to find you... LOL ok, old joke...not funny any more...hasn't been for the last 200 years. Ah, but I love this with its luster and glow. outstanding compo.

oh I'm sure they find you odd, lol! Photographers nosing around, taking pictures from angles most people don't even look at? That's what we're here for! Love the comments, and I love ana's comment that it feels like a musical instrument—she's right, it has sound, I can hear it...It's a stunning shot and it has an amazingly painterly feel, almost like an oil painting. You got just the right light & texture for that, it's very tactile. And the pov is terrific too, the way the background pot looms in the distance (distance, lol, it's a few inches!). Love this shot, it's a blast of power. Whoosh!

In answer to your question: To the average generic person on the street, yes. To a fellow photographer, no. Stellar clarity, colors, reflections and refractions in the multifaceted textures of this neato capture.
elfin14doaks
I would do something like that. I think those are awesome. i have pots very similar to them, mine a tan and brown. If pots like those would have been an option, I would have went for them in a heartbeat. I like stuff like that, but I always get out to ours to late and it's kind of picked over. Ah, that's what I get for working all the time. I like the photo a lot.
flavia49
beautiful!!
tizjezzme
Oh, I LOVE this! It looks like a painting!
jocko500

lucindawind

Beautiful capture....do you really care Tara is they think your odd...I don't think so.
casmindo
After you leave they go to those same pots and look to see what you saw. That most likely will never happen! The least that happens is that you get a great picture and they get a little entertainment! Everyone wins. Nice picture.
valtes
Definitely! But where on earth does one find such a selection of textures otherwise? I have one pot deserving of capturing at home and that is it! Awesome macro btw!!
Realm_Of_Illusion
A beautiful close up, very nice texture.
cfulton
Very well done and well seen too, never mind the looks! Cheers, Clive
