Description

In the thick of it. Fictitious confrontation on the high seas between a Mitchell B25J "Strafer" (the free model courtesy of Beyond VR) and an IJN destroyer. Of course, if this was a certain kind of movie, there'd be a race here between the Axis and Allied powers to recover the paranormal weapons of Lemuria. As if the "normal" weapons of WW2, such as a B25 with a nose crammed tight with eight huge machine guns... weren't enough to be getting on with the job? Some people just don't know when enough is enough... With 20mm cannon shells coming this way and hundreds of 0,5 inch bullets going that way... the reality must have been awful. Then again, some of these B25s had a forward firing 75mm cannon as well - yeah, ...an artillery piece...with wings? And very deaf crewmen, I'll bet. The destroyer (no particular class) and the 0.5 inch cartridges were modelled in Shade 7LE. The destroyer and scene was rendered in Bryce. The B25 and the rain of spent cartridges were rendered in Poser. Painter 8 was used for the action postwork. I'll give the B25 a more relaxed outing shortly to show the re-textured nose and the extra guns as primitives in Poser. Largely because I've been fiddling with the prop-blur in Poser's material room to get a more "realistic" effect.

This has GOT to go straight to FAVES! It is the best action render I've seen!!! Blood n Thunder! Of course, while your details are just about spot on, my friend, unless it was the 75mm armed one OR carrying bombs, it would stay away from a destroyer. But it would certainly bust up a transport ship!! Way to go. More like this please!!!!!!!! Rob.
