Description

Original basic vase created in 3DS Max 2009. I then brought it to ZBrush 3.5 and added the geometric polygonal details (decorations) and decimated for reduced polygon count. Exported back to 3DS Max and added the handles thus bringing it from vase to amphora. I then exported it to UVMapper Pro where I added UV mapping. In Photoshop CS3 I created a color (defuse) texture from a green to beige bottom to top gradient ramp. I then imported the object into Vue 6 Infinite and refined the texture by adding a tweaked bump preset to it. I then built my terrains around the amphora object using different refined EcoSystem materials. After a 6 ½ hour render using the ultra settings I had Vue output the image to PSD Photoshop format together with alpha layers for fine color and contrast retouching. Finally added some color correction and signature. Hope you enjoy it and thanks for viewing.

What a beautiful scene. I agree, the sunlight hitting the trees and vase is lovely.

Great render....although I would have preferred a simpler foreground.

Your workflow and choice of programs is exact like myself except I use Maya. Always use UVmapper when UVmapper is enough, why complicate things? In most cases there is not necessary to export/import displacement mapping between zbrush and the 3D program. "Keep it simple stupid"! :) A beautiful composition from Renderosity's Photoshop guru.
