History and Mythology: Achilles-Revenge História e Mitologia:Aquiles-Vingança The hero Achilles was the epic poem of Homer, The Iliad, which speaks of his feats in the Trojan War he was a great warrior but was also a man with flaws. The anger and hurt pride did reject the leadership of his men in battle; his friend Patroclus was in their place and died. With suffering and revenge, Achilles slew the Trojan warrior Hector, even knowing that this would lead to the death. Achilles was killed when the poisoned arrow of Paris, guided by Apollo, reached his vulnerable heel - the only part of his body that was not submerged by his mother in the river Styx, where he was a baby, to make him immortal.
