Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

great to see you do this! It looks like art on fabric, or some form of print. A nice choice of texture & image to superimpose on the bird—you did it very sensitively; and the grasses make fine counterpoint to the mass of the bird. Plus you captured grasses just beneath his belly, as if they converged in line with his belly. Very nice choice. I'd love to see more from you & the other photographers who did this! I saw Shari's tutorial: really nice work, especially for people who've done little blending. For those of us who layer often, it really becomes a wonderfully slow & delicate art, where the slightest variations in fill/opacity create whole new possibilities; and then you manipulate and adjust in repeated tiny increments until a sculpted image emerges. My Photoshop images use about 2 or 3 blends per (well, my whacked out ones used 10 or more, but I'm going for fun in those!); and the average RR image takes about 4-5 hours, though I've gone longer for some...Here, you've made a complex image, and it has a real print feel to it, almost like an old linen postcard. I'd love to see more, and I understand what you mean by "you can go on forever": Choices are hard, lol, just like with the camera! Lovely piece, Bill.

Well! Gotta admit, it's different! But you knew I'd not quite click with this sort of thing!!! I'm a straight down the middle kind of guy! Only JUST started using collages.... That said, what you've done has been done very well. I did think it was a rock band though..... Rob.
