Description
This is for my darling daughter Lucia and her six year old, dream like view of the world!!
I am a bit of a slow learner...for a long time I was worried that because not many people were favouriting my work I thought it was not good enough!!
Bollocks!
...when my daughter laughed and said that this was beautiful, everything was put into perspective.
I admire and respect many people..both their work and opinion but somewhere along the way I learnt to have some faith in myself.

It IS beautiful Shane! The amount of favs do not say ANYTHING about how beautiful or good an image is.. Your images have a very unique style which I happen to like. Tell your daughter she is a wise girl :)

There's a real 'popularity contest' aspect in who does/doesn't garner favs. While it tickles to have someone like one's work enough to do so, I'm reminded of something Georgia O'Keefe said many years ago: "I get out my work and have a show for myself before I have it publicly. I make up my own mind about it–how good or bad or indifferent it is. After that the critics can write what they please. I have already settled it for myself so flattery and criticism go down the same drain and I am quite free." Keep on livin' free, Shane!
